The inventory in San Mateo County is decreasing along with the days on the market. At the same time the number of homes under contract each month is increasing. Are we starting to see the market level off ? It may be too early to tell but the signs so far in 2009 are positive.

Findings that support this news are detailed in the John Burns Real Estate Consulting April survey of builders across the country. We may not be out of the woods in terms of bad news and the economy but we seem to have taken a giant step forward in the last month. The real estate market is starting to show more signs of life as buyers take advantage of very low interest rates and a big dip in prices.
